Technology is an effective tool that can help diverse learners and exceptional students learn in school. Technology also offers the opportunity of accommodating student's learning styles, needs, and abilities to help those diverse and exceptional students become successful. Unlike with researched based strategies regularly done in the classroom, the integration of technology promotes engagement, creativity, and inclusivity within students and the classroom. Gaming and tactile technologies are great ways to integrate technology into your classroom to create a dynamic and immersive learning environment.
Utilizing visual strategies can greatly benefit diverse learners. "Kahoot," is one example of a gaming technology that can target visual learners and strategies. Kahoot uses visually appealing gamification elements to maximize engagement among learners. This platform allows teachers to create surveys, quizzes, or even discussions for students to participate in. Students can participate through a variety of devices such as a laptop, smartphone, tablet, or desktop. By incorporating this visual gaming platform into teaching, educators can enhance engagement and success among diverse learners.

Implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles through technology can support a wide range of learners, including those with autism and English as a second language. The Universal design for learning (UDL) is a teaching approach that works to accommodate the needs and abilities of all learners and eliminates unnecessary hurdles in the learning process. Therefore, the teacher would have to create a flexible learning environment and present their information in multiple ways. An example of an application that can target the UDL principle or strategy would be Minecraft Education. Minecraft Education inspires creative and inclusive learning within students through play, all while targeting subjects such as reading, math, science and history. The great thing about this application is that the lessons and standardized curriculum is designed for all types of learners. Providing students with multiple means of perceiving, comprehending, and expressing their learning allows students to engage with the material in a way that most benefits them, and also encourages students to engage with material to improve in areas in which their skills are not as strong.
These are only two examples of gaming and tactile applications, however there are plenty more that can help you create a more engaging, motivated, and inclusive learning environment for your students.
